Xenon Feed Unit (XFU)
The Xenon Feed Unit (XFU) developed by ISS Reshetnev is a precision propellant management assembly for electric propulsion systems on geostationary satellites. The XFU controls xenon mass flow rate to electric thrusters (typically SPT-100 stationary plasma thrusters) used for north-south station keeping and orbit raising. It includes a Gas Distributing Unit (GDU) for flow control […]
About
The Xenon Feed Unit (XFU) developed by ISS Reshetnev is a precision propellant management assembly for electric propulsion systems on geostationary satellites. The XFU controls xenon mass flow rate to electric thrusters (typically SPT-100 stationary plasma thrusters) used for north-south station keeping and orbit raising. It includes a Gas Distributing Unit (GDU) for flow control and pressure regulation. The unit is flight-proven on Express-2000 and Express-1000 platform satellites.
