Loutch (also spelled Luch) is ISS Reshetnev geostationary data relay satellite providing continuous radio link coverage to low-orbit spacecraft, launch vehicles, and the Russian segment of the International Space Station. The Loutch-5 series (5A, 5B, 5V) forms the multifunctional space data relay system, enabling near-100% radio visibility of LEO objects from Russian ground stations. This was the first project where RESHETNEV developed and manufactured the onboard transponder (repeater) in addition to the spacecraft platform.
