EDDIE is an on-board computer module specifically designed for space applications, offering a compact form factor and low power consumption. It is built around an MSP430 microcontroller and runs on a FreeRTOS-based operating system. The module includes integrated on-board sensors such as a gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, and temperature sensor, making it suitable for various satellite subsystems. It provides extensive connectivity options, including multiple I2C, RS485, UART, CAN, SPI, PWM, and GPIO interfaces, with some I2C and ADC channels being isolated. The module comes with 6×1 MiB external FRAM for data storage. The product package includes the module with an aluminum cover, a USS Module for testing and development, a debug cable, one hour of engineering support, and shipping in a hardcase. Software development is supported through an open-source SDK. EDDIE is designed to operate in extreme temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C and is ITAR-free.
