About
The VRW-B-02 is the smallest member of VECTRONIC Aerospace’s VRW-series reaction wheel family, designed as an actuator that influences spacecraft rotational motion through angular momentum exchange. It is built around a brushless DC motor, rotor, wheel drive electronics and housing, with speed control implemented via a model-supported PI loop running on a 32-bit microprocessor and a low-noise, high-efficiency four-quadrant PWM drive. The wheel supports both torque control and speed control modes over RS422/RS485/CAN interfaces and offers a nominal in-orbit lifetime exceeding 45,000 hours, with radiation tolerance above 20 krad for LEO small-satellite missions.
