The Xiphos Q8J DSIB (Data Storage and Interface Board) is engineered to maximize the Q8J processor’s advanced capabilities by providing a tightly integrated expansion card focused on high-volume data handling from multiple concurrent sources. It combines two 1 TB solid-state drives with high-performance processors and extensive FPGA fabric, enabling onboard data processing, buffering, and routing between storage and streaming sources.
The board delivers over 300 MB/s sustained write throughput across its dual SSDs, accommodating the high data rates generated by imaging, SAR, or multi-channel RF payloads. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports, seven RS-422 serial ports, one RS-485 port, CAN bus controllers, and extensive LVDS I/O enable connection to virtually any payload instrument or spacecraft bus interface.
The DSIB targets satellite command and data handling architectures where onboard mass memory, high-speed downlink buffering, and rich peripheral connectivity must coexist in a compact, low-power package.
