L-TAC provides a flexible and cost-effective solution for Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) communications, allowing military and first responder teams to maintain voice and data connectivity globally, independent of local infrastructure through Viasat’s secure satellite communication network. It enables reliable communication in remote parts of the world without modifying existing tactical radio equipment. The system supports both VHF and UHF bands and maintains end-user encryption for secure communications. Its omni-directional antennas eliminate the need for manual adjustments, supporting continuous communications on the move (COTM) for soldiers and first responders across various platforms. L-TAC works with frequency converters like Spectra Slingshot™ or Commcrete Flipper™ to integrate with any tactical radio device without hardware or crypto modifications. Some native radio devices from manufacturers like L3 Harris and Thales also include L-band support. The product is backed by a 24/7 Network Operations Centre for remote management and support, and offers flexible leasing options starting from one week. E-LTAC, an advanced online portal, streamlines the management of L-TAC leases, providing secure, pre-allocated frequencies and detailed usage reports for efficient resource allocation and strategic decision-making.
