About

The RW800 is a reaction wheel specifically designed for satellite applications, providing precise attitude control. It is currently under development, with an engineering model already available for testing and evaluation. Key features include a nominal angular momentum of 12.0 Nms at a nominal speed of 3600 rpm, and a maximum commandable reaction torque of 0.2 Nm. The power interface supports a supply voltage range of 23 to 34 V, with power consumption varying from ≤ 2.5 W in standby (motor off) to ≤ 140 W at maximum operation (0.2 Nm/max. speed). Mechanically, the unit has a mass of ≤ 6.0 kg and dimensions of 250 x 250 x 100 mm³. It operates within a temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C, with a start-up range of -25 °C to +60 °C and a survival temperature range of -30 °C to +65 °C. Data communication is handled via CAN/RS485 interfaces. The RW800 is designed for a lifetime of > 15.5 years and a storage time of > 6 years, including 1500 hours of ground operation.
