About

The Model 965 Rotary Servo Actuator is one of the highest torque rotary servo electromechanical actuators available, featuring integrated position loop servo control electronics and a digital communications interface. This actuator provides an angular excursion up to ±90 degrees in its current configuration. Customers can program the positional state of the actuator in case of communication loss, offering flexibility for system integration. Key features include integrated position servo loop control with digital communications, non-jamming mechanical stops, a brushless permanent magnet motor design with an integrated holding brake, high temperature capability, and electronic stops that limit input command. It also utilizes a four-wire RS-485 full duplex signal interface. The robust structural design, mechanical stops, and low weight to power performance are significant benefits, and the actuator is customizable. Typical applications include control surfaces requiring servo actuation in unmanned air vehicles (tactical, medium long endurance, MALE/HALE), target drones (control surfaces, speed brakes), utility actuation (throttle control, doors, spoilers), and electric aircraft, eVTOL, eSTOL, air taxis, and urban air mobility vehicles for tilting mechanisms, flight control, and landing gear.
