About Emhiser Research

Emhiser Research, Inc. designs and manufactures a complete line of airborne and ground-based telemetry equipment, including RF transmitters, receivers, command encoders/decoders and power amplifiers used on aircraft, missiles, munitions and other test-range and aerospace platforms. The company was founded in 1978 in Ridgecrest, California by a group of telemetry engineers, and relocated to the Reno, Nevada area in 1981 as it grew.

Today Emhiser operates a research, development and production facility in Verdi, Nevada (about ten miles west of Reno), configured for total program management from design and prototyping through full production. All Emhiser products are engineered for harsh military environments, with many range-qualified and covered by company patents for RF and telemetry design innovations, including a line of ultra-high-efficiency transmitters that draw less than half the current of conventional designs at a given output power.

Emhiser telemetry equipment has been supplied to all U.S. military branches, Department of Defense contractors, and various space agencies, on both prime and sub-prime contract bases. The "Emhiser Family" of related companies also includes Emhiser Research Ltd. (Chemainus, BC, Canada; Gallium Nitride R&D), Emhiser Tele-Tech (RF/microwave signal processing design and manufacturing), and Emhiser Micro-Tech (miniature voltage-controlled oscillators).
